Hi, My name is Anita Tanczos. Art is my passion, I haven’t had chance to actualise it into a study and go to college so I guess I am a self taught artist. I always loved to draw when i was a child and then I started to draw again in 2009 while living and working in London.
One day I was intrigued by the facial features of a 60 years old colleague at work. I felt that I wanted to draw his portrait and convey his lines and shapes. It was a challenge to do it and I did it in pencil. I ended up giving this drawing to him as a secret Santa present and he loved it. After that I joined a life drawing class in Camden Town, London, UK which was an interesting experience to study how to draw the human body in different positions and structures, along the way I also finished a course in Graphic Design in 2017 in London, UK.
My aim is to keep improving my skills and acquire new techniques, ready for a new challenge. I completed an intensive course in experimental fashion drawing at Central Saint Martins in London, UK in 2019.
Currently I am exploring different mediums and I am influenced by fashion and street art. Some of the elements that appear in my work can’t be categorised by technique because my style keeps changing and evolving, being unique. I’m also interested in other subjects, however, currently I am strongly focusing on fashion illustration, some of my works were recognised by British Vogue , fashion designers: Alexander McQueen, Moschino, Marc Jacobs, Rodarte that I am very proud of.
I like to be spontaneous and just let myself go with the flow. Creativity is endless and I like a new challenge. Since I started in 2009, I have literally not stopped drawing and painting. My intention to draw was born in London surrounded by a mixture of culture and art has helped me find expression to get my balance right within my emotions.
If I could use a quote to express how I feel, it would be by February James:
‘’ Take it all in Sketch it all out ‘’
