BTEC Graphic Design course - 2017
I was very excited to take this course back in 2017. It was one of my first steps to get closer to my dreams and evolve my skills in art in London, UK. Always wanted to combine illustrations with digital effects that’s why I thought maybe it would be a great step forward and I just should attend to a graphic design course. The course allowed me to explore / learn more about Adobe ( photoshop , illustrator , indesign ) Learn how to work with design concepts using colour, typography and layout, explore my creativity more.
The pictures above give you a little insight into the classes. Practising different techniques such as tracing paper, mark making, transferring prints in photoshop, using random photographs for our post card design, playing with opposite words, working as a team on a poster design that I really liked.
V&A Museum school trip - Book cover design project
During the course we were required to design book covers to represent 4 of the collection focussing on 20th Century design. Therefore, we had a trip to V&A to collect some design examples, do some illustrations onsite. This project helped me to develop as a designer by introducing me to a range of graphic design elements, materials and terminology and explore graphic design technics and processes to produce an outcome. The day out at V&A was a great experience helped me learn more about team work, brainstorming with each individual classmate that produced fascinating results. At the same time, creativity, combination of colours, free hand drawings, fonts and photographs encouraged me to view things in a different perspective.
After exploring the whole museum I decided to go with the following topics ( fashion, glass , jewellery, furniture ) and create my book designs accordingly.
